We are looking for people with a passion and enthusiasm to help us build and expand our service offering to more people within the Wellington region. As a charity which supports individuals to prepare for work and economic independence, we not only provide free clothing but also deliver programmes which help identify skills, build confidence and self-esteem, develop CVs and cover letters, build up interview skills and so much more.
As a Committee member you'll be involved in setting our strategic direction, deciding which projects to prioritise and fund, managing resource allocation and ultimately monitoring overall performance to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
Committee members may be given specific portfolios relevant to their area of expertise. This year we have a number of portfolios becoming vacant and are particularly looking for people with HR experience and legal expertise. Other areas of experience which would be valuable include retail and sales, Pacific and Maori culture, coaching and mentoring people with anxiety, IT systems and fundraising.
We are also looking for a Secretary to assist with organising Committee meetings and taking minutes.
Our Committee meets one evening each month at our hub at 90 The Terrace but Committee members also provide advice and support in-between meetings so having a few spare hours each week to devote to our mission is essential.
Our Committee members must also be ordinary members of the organisation. Click here to find out about membership. The new Committee will be appointed at our AGM on Wednesday 26th March. Interested members will need to provide a photo and short bio explaining what they bring to the role by Monday 17th March.
